Autobahn (South) — Race Line
Estimated from data not in trackdays.ai. The speeds and braking points come from cars lapping at a typical quick HPDE pace. If you have data you would like to contribute, please send it to upload@trackdays.ai to help improve our estimates. Turn numbers are provisional: our own, in lap order, 13 bends against the venue's 15 turns. Our T1 is probably the venue's T2, since its T1 is a slight kink on the straight before the hairpin.
Heads up: This is an estimate of a typical quick HPDE line, not any one car's lap. Braking points are a starting point, not a target: start a little earlier and work later in small steps. The line goes straight from throttle to brake; amber only marks where you really lift or hold part throttle. Turn numbers are provisional, and for most of the lap they probably run one behind the venue's. The LiDAR was flown in 2014.

The South circuit is the technical half of Autobahn: flat, with about 4 m of relief and nothing you will feel vertically, and every corner banked slightly toward the inside, so it is a pure exercise in braking, lines and patience. The heavy stops are the T1 hairpin, the T7–T8 pair of rights and the T10 right at the end of the long back straight, and most corners reward a late apex and a clean exit more than late braking. The surface is bumpy in places, so do your braking in straight lines and keep your inputs smooth.
Sectors

The lap starts with a slight kink on the straight and then a heavy stop for the slow right-hand hairpin at T1, the most banked corner on the circuit. T2, T3 and T4 are three lefts: a quick one that falls away, a fast, well-banked sweeper that climbs out of the lowest point on the lap, and a quicker left that drops again on exit.

T5 is a right that dips on entry and climbs through the apex and wants a patient, late apex, and T6 is a fast, gentle right. T7 and T8 are two slower rights that work as one corner, and T9 is the left that sends you onto the long back straight.

The back straight ends in the slowest corner on the lap, the T10 right, with the T11 left straight after it, both on gently falling ground. T12 is a right that climbs back up, and T13 is a fast left kink that returns you to the front straight.
Corners

This slow right-hand hairpin is the first heavy stop of the lap and the most banked apex on the circuit. Brake hard and in a straight line from the left side, turn in late for a very late apex and drive out to the left, using the banking to get on the power early. The mistake to avoid is braking on the bumpy approach with the car still turning, which unsettles it just as you need it to bite.
From the survey: The most banked apex on the South lap (+3.3%); the highest point on the lap is on its exit.

This is a fast left that you take while still accelerating away from the hairpin, and the road falls away after the apex. It needs no braking and at most a breath off the throttle: aim for a late apex and let the car run out to the right, which is where you want to be for the next left. The mistake to avoid is turning in early, which runs you wide on the downhill exit.
From the survey: Falls 0.6 m to the apex and 1.5 m after it.

A fast, sweeping left, strongly banked at the apex, that climbs out of the lowest part of the lap. Lift or brake in a straight line from the right side, turn in smoothly and let the banking carry you to a late apex, then run out to the right as the road rises. The mistake to avoid is an early apex: the corner keeps going, and turning in too soon pushes you wide on the uphill exit.
From the survey: Banked +3.2% at the apex; climbs about 1.6 m to the exit from the lowest point on the lap (180.1 m).

Another left, quicker than it looks, that drops about a metre after the apex. Set the car with a lift or a light brake from the right side, take a late apex and let it run out to the right, then use the run that follows to move back to the left and brake for the right-hander ahead. The mistake to avoid is carrying too much speed onto the falling exit and running out of road.

A right with a slight dip on the way in that then climbs through the apex and out of the corner, and the guides agree it wants patience. Brake in a straight line from the left side, wait for a late apex and use the uphill to put the power down as the car runs out to the left. The mistake to avoid is turning in early, which runs you wide on the uphill exit.
From the survey: Rises 1.0 m to the apex and 0.9 m after it, with a slight dip on entry.

A fast, gentle right, well banked, that you take with little or no braking. Keep one smooth steering input, use the banking and let the car drift out to the left, which sets you up for the braking zone into the next right. The mistake to avoid is an abrupt lift mid-corner, which unloads the rear at speed.

The first of two slow rights that work best as one corner. Brake hard and straight from the left side, turn in to an apex around the middle of the inside curbing and let the car drift out toward the left before the second apex, keeping one steady steering input. The mistake to avoid is treating this as a separate corner and then braking again for the second one.

The second half of the pair: a tight right that wants a really late turn-in, and the more banked of the two. Hold your line from the first apex, clip this one late and unwind early enough to get the car straight for the short run to the left that follows. The mistake to avoid is getting on the power too early, which pushes you wide and wrong-footed for the next corner.
From the survey: Banked +2.8% at the apex.

A left that releases you onto the long back straight, so its exit matters far more than its entry. It needs little or no slowing: turn in from the right side for a late apex and let the car run out to the right as you go to full throttle. The mistake to avoid is an early apex that makes you lift on the way onto the straight.

The right at the end of the long back straight is one of the slowest corners on the lap and a heavy, straight-line stop on gently falling ground. Brake from the left side, turn in late and apex late, but don't let the car run all the way out to the left, because a left follows almost at once. The mistake to avoid is braking too late on the downhill approach and arriving at the next corner off line.
From the survey: Lightly banked (+1.1%); drops 0.7 m to the apex.

A left that comes straight out of T10 and keeps falling gently through the apex. Get the car straight early, take a late apex and let it run out to the right, then move back across to the left for the right at T12. The mistake to avoid is still adding steering after the apex, which costs you the drive to T12.

T12 is a right that climbs about a metre to the exit, the last real corner before the front straight, so its exit is what matters. A lift is enough here rather than the brakes; take a late apex and use the climb to put the power down early as the car runs out to the left. The mistake to avoid is an early apex that makes you lift on the way onto the front straight.

T13 is a fast left kink onto the front straight, lightly banked and not all the way through. Keep it to one small, smooth steering input with the throttle steady or building; there is nothing to gain by turning harder than the kink needs. The mistake to avoid is lifting sharply mid-kink, which unloads the rear at one of the fastest points on the lap.
From the survey: Lightly banked (+0.8%), and not all the way through (−1.2% at one edge).
Version history
- v1.2 · 2026-10-01 — The exit of T5 is now drawn as throttle where the car is already gaining speed, instead of as a lift.
- v1.1 · 2026-10-01 — Speeds and braking points rebuilt at a typical quick HPDE pace. Braking points moved 10–45 m later (T10 about 45 m, T7 30 m, T1 20 m, T4 15 m), T3 is now a long lift with only a brief dab of the brakes, and T12 is now a lift rather than a stop. The line now goes straight from throttle to brake, with no coasting in between. Guide text for T2, T9 and T12 now matches the line. Version history and feedback contributors added.
- v1.0 · 2026-10-01 — First version.
